Once bisqued, the objects are glazed with a copper glaze.  The next firing goes to almost 2000 degrees Fahrenheit.  Using metal tongs, the piece is pulled from the kiln and placed in an airtight container of combustibles for the 'Reduction'.  Reduction means to reduce the amount of or deprive the atmosphere of oxygen. 

If all goes well you will have a piece with an explosion of metallic colors including coppers, violets, magentas and blues or golds, with pastels (pinks, purples, greens) in cloud-like formations, giving one a wonderful, one-of-a-kind artwork to treasure.

Caring for your art:  Dust a glossy surface, for matte surfaces rinse in water only, gently use a soft brush to remove dust and dry immediately.
